Moroccan Chicken Stew

2 T Olive Oil
8 boneless skinless chicken thighs  ( I usually cut them up)
2 medium red onions, sliced (2 cups)
1 large green pepper chopped in 1" squares
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 t cinnamon
1 T curry powder
1 can condensed tomato soup
1/3 C golden raisins
1 15 oz can chickpeas (garbanzo beans) rinsed and drained
2/3 cup slivered almonds
 
Heat oil in large skiller or Dutch oven. Brown chicken on both sides. Remove. In same pan, fry onions, pepper and garlic until tender crisp. Add cinnamon and curry and stir one minute. stir in soup and add chicken back to pot. Cover and cook over low heat about 15 minutes. Stlr in raisins and chickpeas and simmer another 10 minutes. Add almonds.
 
Serve with rice.
